2009-06-23 [Lady Kari]: "Oh... Actually, at home we have wooden flutes, but this tin one I got on the road. Would you like me to demonstrate what style is usually played with it?" Smiling, she reached out a hand to take the flute.

2009-06-24 [Strawboy]: Ahriman stood on the edge of town, contemplating whether to enter or pass by. His food stocks were gone and he couldnt hunt due to his demonic aura scaring away animals before he even saw them. But entering a town was just as risky, as many humans saw demons as pure monsters. He sighed finally deciding that his hunger was more important then stealth.

2009-06-24 [Gael]: (Well, here goes. Enter Jaro)
   A lone figure paused beyond the castle gates to contemplate the size of the immense mansion before it. Seeming to make up its mind, it began its approach of the large vaulted doorway which marked the inner sanctum of the Dragon Kingdom. Its measured steps brought it to the watchman's port, which quickly slid open allowing a pair of beady red eyes to peer through the gate.
   "What do you want, human?" asked the pair of eyes.
   "I have come to talk with the mighty Malik, as I bear the intentions of the Archon." replied the figure.
   "Wait here!" the watchman's port slid closed and hid the pair of eyes.
   Inside the castle the demon watchman clicked down the stone hallways towards Malik's chambers. Upon reaching the door, the demon lowered his forehorns to the floor and spoke.
   "Lord Malik," stated the watchman "a human is standing in your courtyard demanding an audience with your lordship. It appears as if the Temple has sent another of its whelps to reason with you, though this one bears the rank of captian. Would you have him disposed of like the others?"

Taking the instrument, Isa bowed. Then the watchman entered as she was about to play. Looks like their bonding time was over. Oh well. 'Wait... Bonding time? Ew!' She thought, frowning to herself.

Seemingly running out of thin air, Delano breezed in off the wind with Fidelja by his side. "I was afraid you guys already started without me." He grinned at Zoey and the other dragons.

Malik sighed, playing absentmindedly with a piece of clean silverware that had been left on the table. Words directed at the watchman, "I've told them time and again that I like my solitude, what do they want to pester me with this time?"

He carefully laid down next to her, shaking his mane out again a little

2009-06-24 [Strawboy]: Ahriman tried to blend into the throngs of people, but his muscular 7 foot frame made him stand out like a sore thumb. People began to avoid him and he heard whispring Perhaps i should have continued on after all . He stopped as he smelt another demon in the city. It was not one of his clan, but a demon none the less that explains why the town guards arent here yet, they're used to demons he noted, picking up the scent of two more.

2009-06-24 [Gael]:    "Well I didn't think to ask him," replied the demon "you usually have me stab'em in the gut and throw them off the cliff." The demon stood motionless, expecting, waiting on Malik. Its face saddened. "I will bring him to your lordship then," it said straightening itself. The demon turned and briskly trotted off.
   When the demon returned it led the way for a human. The demon had removed the man's weapons and shield upon his entering the castle, but the human was still bore his armor adorned with the recognizable sunburst of the Temple Guard, and the less recognizable crest of a captain.
   Upon reentering the room, the watchman once again knelt to the floor, and the human made a short bow.
   "Greetings, Lord Malik," spoke the armor clad man "I am Captain Jaro Keinz of the Temple Guard, sixth component, and I have come here, on behalf of the Archon himself, to apologize for the delay in the payment of tribute to your Empire, and to find a solution to remedy the situation."

Unsheathing his hanwei dao that replaced his kan dao from the earlier battle, Delano pointed the peak of the blade in challenge toward Akio at shoulder level. "Your mom is ridiculous. Now you're mine, fairy boy." A low rumble rose in Fidelja as she sized up Daichi.

The hairs across Haru's neck and shoulders involuntarily bristled when Fidelja growled. She stifled an anxious snarl.

As she watched Malik's exchange with the visitors, Isa felt a little sorry for him. 'I wonder how often he actually smiles...' she pondered sadly.

2009-06-30 [Sigyn, The Faithful Wife]: Amithi came to stand next to Akio silently. She had been watching the situation closely while she protected Kalkin as he rested and healed. Her grip tightend on her spear.

Kalkin growled softly from Fidelja's right. His white fur was still stained bright red from their previous meeting.

   "Lord Malik," replied Jaro, "the commander in charge of your own borderland army is pressuring the Archon for punctual payment of tribute; so you must know, whenever a caravan from the Temple attempts to deliver the gold it is intercepted by your own dragons. Then it is plundered, brutally. The last few messengers we sent to bring this to your attention never returned, so I, a captain of the Temple guard, sixth component, have been sent to see to it personally that you are made aware of this." Jaro stopped and waited for a response. As he stood, a small black fly buzzed unhurriedly by him. He watched it pass.

Forgetting about the dragons beside him and their mission, Delano leaped at Akio. Fidelja reached Daichi in one bound, swiping at his head.

  Jaro glanced over at the only other human in the room, "yes, we also had that thought cross our minds. The problem is, the only dragons between the Temple and the capitol are all in the service of the Empire itself... and the survivor did report that they bore your emblem." The fly drifted lazily back and forth around the room, eventually finding a comfortable perch atop Lord Malik's arm.

Malik flicked it away nearly the very moment it touched down, his speed making his previous defense against Isa and Kimi's attack look extremely lazy. He didn't bother pay any other mind as it splatted again the nearest wall, "Unless you can give me something more, I can't help you. The empire is vast and there are many who would do such things in their lust for power and wealth."

Akio struck out when Delano came after him, sending a sharp shock-wave right at Delano's stomach

After a bit, he transformed back, careful not to wake her, and slipped his coat off to wrap it around her

2009-07-02 [hinata hyuuga (kimiko)]: Kimi snuggled under the coat and woke up yawning. "oh...hehe...was i sleeping? im sorry...it was just so peaceful and wonderful. and thanks for the coat Yu." she said wrapping herself in it.

2009-07-02 [Gael]:    "It is just," began Jaro," that the Temple cannot afford to go to war with the Empire and your commander says he will do just that if we cannot continue paying tribute. So I cannot leave until we can come to an agreement about this." The armored human seemed nervous when reciting his dispatch to the head of the Empire, and then became even more so once he had nothing more to recite.

2009-07-02 [Lady Kari]: Isa stared at the small splat on the wall, her eyes slightly widened. Suddenly the intimidation of Malik came rising up once again.

His blade pointed down, Delano drew it in front of himself to block. As the strike ripped along his armor, he brought his sword over his shoulder, loading for a slice.

2009-07-02 [DragonicTunes]: Not paying any attention to Isa's re-found fear, though he could sense it, Malik made a fairly spontaneous offer, "Then how about I write an edict for you that demands he either leaves you alone, or else every time he'll have to suck off whoever he's bitching at about it?" Hoping anything would get Jaro out of his house as soon as possible.

Akio brought his blade back across to meet Delano's attack and Daichi jumped away from Fidelja, growled and baring his fangs

"It's fine" Yu smiled a little

2009-07-02 [Lady Kari]: She tilted her head slightly to one side with a curious expression on her face and looked at Malik seriously. "Suck off what?"

As Haru snarled, Fidelja smacked her in the face while Daichi dodged.

2009-07-02 [DragonicTunes]: Malik glanced over at her skeptically, then remembered something from before and shuddered, then looked back at Jaro, "Anyway..."

2009-07-02 [hinata hyuuga (kimiko)]: Kimi smiled back and leaned against him. "your so sweet..." she said.

2009-07-02 [Sonya Blue]: the bounty hunter closest to them saw his opportunity to strike and drew his bow, shooting an arrow at Ari 


Ari was gone from her spot faster than he could even draw his bow, and was on the roof of the diner they were outside of

Gemini had flipped up into the air and landed on the back of the back of the dragon, and stood behind the bounty hunter, her sai at his neck  ---  Vixen's gaze flickered back and fourth to Gemini and Daichi, not sure who to help

2009-07-02 [Lady Kari]: Smoky tendrils curled up Akio's legs as Delano proceeded to hack at him.

A surprised whine escaped Haru as Fidelja's paw crashed into her skull. Dazed, she scrambled backward toward Daichi.

Isa frowned. 'That wasn't very polite...' she mentally rejected Malik back.

2009-07-04 [Eccentrifuge]: Almas deftly defended himself and Keva with his quarterstaff, it forming a quite dangerous blur about him. He spared glances in Gemini's direction, making sure ever few moments that she was okay. She was holding her own marvelously, but still, He made sure that he could intervene and help her at an instant's notice.

2009-07-08 [Sonya Blue]: before the bounty hunter could react, Gemini dropped his lifeless body onto the ground, she however did not appear to have moved at all, his dragon took off into the sky, clearly scared that his life would be next if he stuck around too long.  ---  Vixen ran up next to Haru, she lunged at Fidelja

   Apparently the Emperor had few worries about war with one of his vassal states, thought Jaro. The past messengers had proved that as well.
   Not wanting to take the chance of receiving the usual fate of a messenger from the Temple by pressing the issue, this particular messenger began to make preparations to withdraw from the mansion.
   "Lord Malik", spoke Jaro, "thank you for your gracious actions toward resolving the situation. Since my message is delivered and I have been assured of action on this matter; I am now authorized to leave. I will, however, remain nearby as an ambassador from the temple, in case we have further need of negotiations." And with that the captain of the Temple guard, sixth component, strode out of the room, and upon doing so let another small black fly buzz into Malik's chambers.

Almas breathed a sigh of relief when he saw how eloquently Gemini had handled the situation. He had forgotten just how talented (that being vaguely synonymous in his mind with 'deadly') she was. He called out to her.

Daichi growled angrily, baring his teeth as his fur bristled when Haru got knocked back. He lunged at Fidelja, unable to get at the front of her neck since Vixen had latched on there, so he settles on sinking his teeth into her shoulder

Akio pulled at his legs, blocking and countering to the best of his ability; every attack sending a strong, sharp wave of air at Delano

"Eh..." He shrugged, "I should probably get you back to Malik soon though, if I keep you too long he might bitch a fit at me again"

2009-07-10 [hinata hyuuga (kimiko)]: Kimi smiled and nodded. "oh...ok then. dont want you to get into any trouble over me." she said getting up.

2009-07-10 [Lady Kari]: ((Hey, I've got an idea. Let's all dog-pile Fidelja, considering there are how many other evil things flying around waiting to kill us? lol And sorry if this doesn't make much sense. I'm very tired. :-/))
Isa nodded apologetically, unsure if there was anything to say.

Seeing that Fidelja was being piled on, Haru moved in closer for a better angle, snarling.
Noticing that she was being jumped by a gang, Fidelja swiped at Daichi's face. Now she had two blood-sucking leeches on her and a snarling fleabag at her side. Off, you revolting bile!
The tendrils climbed up to Akio's hips and like roots they grounded him to where he stood. As their swords sawed the air, Delano did his best in dodging the razor-like wind off his opponent's blade. It deflected the shadows from his own that were eager to eat anything they touched.

He sighed, about to say something else when suddenly a group of overly dressed, giggly women came in and grabbed Malik by the arms, babbling something about cleansing his impurities and pulling him off despite his protests.

Daichi growled and dug his paws into Fidelja's hide, pulling with his teeth

Akio pulled back again and when he swung his blade again, it let out a twister of wind around Delano

Yu shrugged and got up, "I get in trouble with him all the time anyway"

2009-07-14 [Lady Kari]: Speechless, Isa just stared. Then blinked. "How odd..." she mumbled.

Jerking, Fidelja snarled. The wounds Kalkin left were on fire.

When the twister engulfed Delano, it sucked the breath out of him and he slipped into unconsciousness. His sensations were filled with nothing but a suffocating, whirring noise and darkness. As the twister died, Delano's eyes shot open and he flailed, gasping. "They're coming for me again!" At last his body came in contact with the ground as he clutched the dirt and climbed to his feet. "Lja! Lja, we're going NOW."

2009-07-14 [DragonicTunes]: After a few moments, one of them came back and looked Isa over, "What kind of servant are you? You're filthy..."

Akio pulled himself free of the shadows while Delano was unconscious, then tilted his head a little when Delano started babbling, "What...?"

Daichi hesitantly let go of Fidelja and jumped back when Akio backed off

2009-07-14 [Lady Kari]: Frowning, Isa recoiled indignantly. "I beg your pardon?" Then she inspected her worn and torn robes self-consciously.

Haru finally decided that the safest place to attack would be the hindquarters and chomped down, since Fidelja was already wearing Vixen as a necklace.
Shoo, you wretched, glorified scarves! Lja barked mentally at the two aggressors as she staggered to Delano with compromised balance.
Looking back at Akio, Delano glowered with the memory. "I was kidnapped... by an enemy so terrifying you couldn't imagine." The bright lights flashed into his mind's eye, more like the sun than stars, as he recalled. Then followed the whirring air and darkness. Then the pain... but there was something that stuck out that he whispered, "But you can't even see them!" Touching Fidelja's ear, he vanished into the night breeze.

2009-07-14 [DragonicTunes]: The woman grabbed her arm and started to pull her out of the room, "You're gonna have to be washed up too, otherwise you'll dirty him"

Akio just shook his head slightly as Haru and Vixen dropped off Fidelja when she disappeared with her master, "What a weird guy..."

2009-07-14 [Lady Kari]: "Dirty him?" Reluctantly, she allowed the OCD woman to pull her through the door. "Where exactly are you taking me?"

I think he's crazy, really... And what's with his cat's language? Haru leaned to one side, panting.

2009-07-14 [DragonicTunes]: "To the baths of course, stupid child" She drug Isa upstairs and into the bathing room. On the other side of the paper screens, Malik was still being harassed by the same flock of annoying servants who were now insisting on bathing him, the floor already wet from his attempts to escape their pawing, "God damn, will you get out!". It was only when he smacked one of them that the herd squealed and ran out past Isa and the woman who had brought her there.
She just sighed, "Get undressed and wash up, if there's even a hint of dirt left on you, you'll be put on cleaning duty..."

Akio rested his sword on his shoulder, "No clue"

As the girls rushed past, they had the appearance of dolls to her. Startled dolls, but dolls nonetheless. Noting that everyone wasn't exactly in the best mood, Isa nodded compliantly. "Okay, but... What do I..." She looked down at her 'dirty' robes and was surprised at how dirty they actually were. Guessing that battle didn't help keep them clean, she also wondered at how the lighting pointed out every speck of dirt.

Nodding, Isa waited until she was alone behind the paper screen to take off her clothes. 'This is like a bath house...' she thought. She carefully set her clothes aside from her other belongings such as her nut sack and whatever small, hidden weapons she had left on her. When she got into the water, the warmth felt so good she sighed. Knowing she probably couldn't stay there long, though, she went to work at scrubbing herself.

2009-07-14 [DragonicTunes]: Malik closed his eyes for a moment when the room got quiet and took a moment to reflect, annoyed with how overwhelming the scent of the oils and soaps were, ~It would be so nice to just have a shower like a regular person.~ He sat up reluctantly and started bathing, figuring it would be better not to bother Isa

After a bit the woman came back with some clean clothes, retrieving Isa's dirty ones

"Thank you..." Isa mumbled, eying the strange clothes. When she was finished bathing, she barely recognized the clothing. "They want me to wear this?" Uncertainly she pulled the pink blouse over her and tied on the the spring green and darker pink skirts of the modest ruqun, a traditional Chinese style attire. When the woman came in again, Isa was finishing by tying her hair back with a pink ribbon.

Malik finished and got out of the bath, pulling a robe on just as the woman smiled at Isa, "Perfect, you look-" "Horrible," he cut in, standing at the edge of the paper screen, "She's a gift, Carla, not some giggly temple priestess sent here to annoy me and treat me like some defenseless toddler..." he glanced at Isa again, maybe it was just the ribbon that overdid it, though he didn't really see how the colors suited her at all, "Maybe I liked her how she was."

Carla stared at him, dumbfounded, "But, M'lord, she was filthy!"

He shook his head, "Go back with your flock and leave me alone, it's not your place to drag her around by the hair."

2009-07-14 [Lady Kari]: Isa bit her bottom lip. She had a feeling that whatever this Carla was going to say it would've been nicer to hear. Judging from her reaction, though, Isa assumed she hadn't put it on wrong. Humbly she folded her hands and stared at the floor. "Is there something wrong, Lord Malik?"

2009-07-14 [DragonicTunes]: She bit her tongue and bowed slightly before quickly exiting, having been there the longest out of all the women she'd noticed how much more irritable he'd gotten over time and wasn't going to push her luck

Malik chewed on his cheek bitterly for a moment, "She gave you the same clothes as the rest of those mannequins, if I wanted a carbon copy then I'd probably like the rest of them too." "I've asked you once, I won't ask you again. Leave. NOW. Or I WILL kill you." He said. His voice was deadly and his face was shrouded. It was obvious that he meant what he said.

"You are to keep walking. Never let either of us see you again. If I do, or hear that Gemini has seen you, I will kill you myself. That is a promise."

2009-07-28 [Sigyn, The Faithful Wife]: Amithi and Kalkin had long departed from the others. It was in thier nature to travel alone, even seperating from each other from time to time. Amithi looked up at the sky and opened her mind, hoping tosense a familiar presence, but all she felt was the emptiness of the deserted forest around her. She sighed softly and went back to mending her almost completely healed wounds.

Kalkin looked at Amithi, knowing she was hoping for the company of the other humans they had met along the way. He couldn't blame her. He missed the pesky chit chat of the wolves and fox they had met, though he would never admit it.
